Couldn't agree more. Whenever I travel, my eyes drink the sights in, especially the architecture of the place - taking pictures is always a belated realisation, so places live in my memories. Insights from locals and yes, some time to relax make a holiday, worthwhile. FOMissedO sets in after I return 😁 when I see there was so much more to the place!!! Well....
I used to spend a lot of time (too much time, according to one employer 😆) on the TripAdvisor forum for NYC, and there were SO many people asking what they "must" see or do...while travel should take us out of our comfort zones to a certain extent, if you don't enjoy musical theater at home, you shouldn't feel compelled to attend a Broadway show...if modern art is not your thing, it's okay to give MoMA a miss, etc.
For some folks, 15 minutes enjoying pizza in Naples is more culturally significant than 6 hours exploring Pompeii. And that is FINE!
So well said and so true . Sometimes we push ourselves to do stuff only because we think its "cool" and for social media. And to show off. Travel has become a sort of a badge value, to flaunt, to showcase and I think that's sad because there is so much FOMO around
Solid advice and you seem like the best kind of traveler!
Thank you and am just trying to be a better traveller to the best of my abilities

And we are so lost in the place that sometimes we forget ourselves let alone take pictures
This is SUCH an important perspective!
